This year we had net-books for our first time. Last year I had to write in books, BORING.

But I started to be happy when we got our first net-book. I was so excited, I was about EXPLODE. Well not explode an in blow up. Without a net-book I will be going to write on books again.

We can learn heaps of stuff like reading,writing and other things. Now our teacher can check our work from on. Everybody likes having net-books even bringing them home to work on there reading or writing and other activity’s.

Going Up And Down

On our way to Ab-sailing it looked pretty high like I’m going to fall off. But the lucky thing is we get 2 harnesses. One is a chest and the other is a body harness. It my turn to clime up and I was second to go up.

I was scared to go up, it was pretty hard climbing. I got tired when I was up there now for the scary part. I have to go down on a smooth platform. I was moving so slow walking up to the edge of the platform. I was going fast all the way down to the ground, suddenly I hold on the rope starting to go slowly.

Splashing Off The Pontoon

As I started to walk into the water, it was freezing cold. On the way I was chattering and shivering, it was like walking to the south pole. Finally I got to the pontoon and I was starting to get warmer.

I climbed up the pontoon and got my first chance to jump off. Suddenly I accidentally fell off backwards. I was shocked that my first jump was a fall. It was like someone pushed me off the pontoon.

Camp Bentzon

We are to get on a fairy but first we go on a bus. It is going to be cool when where on the fairy

I am looking forward to going camp because it is going to be a hot day, to go swimming. Even sailing is going to be heaps of fun.

My challenge for Kawau Island is the burma trail. It is going to be really dark when we are walking.

I am getting ready to get active when I get there.

Ice Cream Comets

On Monday we had a afternoon treat it was a ice cream comet.

We crushed the biscuits and hundreds of thousands with the thousands block. it was going to be tasty in the end. the biscuits looked like dust when it was crushed. It felt so cold when I got my ice cream, it was dripping through my fingers when I was rushing down the ramp.

As I got to Mr Sommerville he tipped hundreds of thousands on my ice cream. Then I was ready to eat it, it tasted nice. Suddenly some people got a brain freeze. Then a huge mess on the ground outside room 17's courtyard it looked dirty. So we had seconds We had to eat with our hands.

Last We were chatting outside. Some people wash there hands because it was sticky and dirty, it looked like mud to me. I dont know if where going to clean the mess below our picnic table.

Next Time When I have Ice Cream I think I'm going to have warm gloves.

AFL Coaching

Isn't AFL an Australia game? I was intrigued when I heard there were Aussie Rules Coaches,coming in to teach us how to play. We are kiwi kids!

The most difficult thing to do is Drop Punt. It was hard to aim at your target, as we had a contest. My partner was showing off as he was felling confident saying” Mr S catch this” as he missed kicking it to the side.

The second thing that our coach was going to demonstrate, is how to hand pass. It looked easy when she demonstrated it but it was not easy for us. As I tried to hand pass it veered off in an different direction and I said “Watch Out! as loud as I could.

Now it was time to handmark. You have to make your hands into a W. I dropped The ball as we had a game it was not to easy as I said “ No!

I’m looking forward to putting all these skills into practice, when we get to a real game of AFL next week.

Polar Bears

In the Arctic, Polar Bears are the largest Bears in the world. It lives on ice and along the shore.

Polar Bears have are very thick coat to keep warm. They have bumps on their paws to grip on ice. it has sharp teeth to help chew hard bits off.

A cub does not live alone, it lives with its mother. The cub lives with it for to in a half years. The mother protects the little cub, and she teaches it how to hunt for food.

Polar Bears wait to hunt seals because its their main food. Seals have their own breathing hole to breath. The polar Bear waits until the seal comes up to breath. When it comes up it flung its huge paws with sharp claws to flip it on the ice.

In the wild bears live for 20 years and a bear that live in the zoo it manage to live up to 41 years.

RWC Ceremony Opening

On Friday it was the big game for the rugby world cup opening as Tonga goes against the All Blacks. There was a big cheer from the fans from both teams and they came onto the field.

The crowd was cheering as loud as they could, like wild animals. They wanted the game to start as the performance was still going. As it started I thought we were going to win as Tonga would not get any points. But they got one and the crowd went crazy.

There was the last minute of the second half we won but we did not expect there work although the city struggled with the huge crowd,everyone agreed that the opening ceremony was a huge success.

Badminton is a very tricky sport to play as it looks like your going to lose the comin wealth game. So we had Badminton lesson. Our guide was could Donna.She is Ranked 16 in the world.

But the Badminton game looks often strange because there was heaps of shuttles in a big box. I felt nervous at the beginning. I was getting the butterfly’s in my stomach but there’s nothing wrong with playing Badminton.

So I started to get use to Badminton but not with serving. It was really hard because it takes time before you get it.I tried and I tried to get a point and it was a point to me so I cheered myself for getting one but I lost so In less it was a game and I Tried my very best to get one point for myself.

I think that All Parents and children, should have 1 television free day to have a break watching TV. There are many reasons for this. This will rest your eyes for a day, and it’ll get your homework done as well.

Firstly, there is one day that all children should not watch TV for one day so you could rest your eyes. It will not make your eyes hurt and won’t make you tired.

This morning Miss Oauno showed us a movie. It was set in the sky full of clouds. The title is Partly Cloudy. There was a character called cloudy and a bird named stork. This movie starts with storks and they had to give things to there new parents. But there was one cloud that a stork does not want to work because the boss made him bad things. It was so sad that the stork wanted to be with another cloud. When it nearly comes into a end the stork came back to open the bag and it was armor for protection so he doesn't get hurt.

Extreme Make Over Edition

Marvin and I worked how to redesign Room 17's courtyard. Today we chosen to do a extreme make over in Room 17's courtyard. our plans we had added a higher drinking fountain because we do not like to bend our backs. But so far Room 17's courtyard is a bit boring and people don't even play there anymore.

Marvin always has idea's he showed me a bench seat it look great for people to sit on so we don't have to sit on the ground. Marvin found it on Mitre 10 mega.

But finally I have the best idea is to take the rails and put stairs only it'll be awesome because it is a faster way to go home and back to school and you won't have to get squashed by other people.

There was a movie that Miss Oauno showed us. The movie starts when the two octopuses were together and the female one was taken out. The male had to save her because she would be eaten in a restaurant. They try to get the male to get off the truck. Then they jump in different pools and it, and then the female had to save the male that was caught by a bird then it finished it made me laugh.

Our task this morning is to redesign our mouses using our imagination. I add a name with only one letter starting with t. I also added a 3 arrows 1 on each a big one for the front to make it a head. Miss Oauno said that we have to Imagine about our own net book case. I figured out that I was going to put a bigger pocket so I can put extra stuff inside like my net book and something else.

I still Imagined about the net book case so I put an X box 360 and a flat screen TV and to make bigger I made a bigger handle. It looks amazing.

Marble Track Callenge Part 2

Today we had another challenge called Marble Track Callenge Two given by Miss Oauno but it was the same one as yesterday. This time it was even better,We got to plan our Struture. My partners were Piriniha and Logan. we planed that we were going to Roll some news paper into tubes and make to two angles.

As we started we only got ten minutes and it was a big project to do. I felt worried that we were not able to finish our structure. Cutting the paper as was rushing to finish as Miss Ouano said we got an extra five minutes but it was still not enough time to finish. We did not succeed our structure because we gave up.

Marble Track Challenge

As Miss Ouano said that we had a competition, we found out it was called the ten minute technology challenge. I felt worried that I was going to lose the challenge on my own but lucky we had partners to build it.

We made the news paper into tubes and made a slide and a tunnel with it too, but that was my idea to describe what it will look like. We had our own jobs what we had to do, I had to do the cello taping and Pirinha had to cut newspaper and Marvin had to make the structure on his own.

Marvin tested it and it broke the slide, but it went though the tunnel. We had to think of another idea, so we thought of something else. There were no ideas to think of as we staring at the broken structure we made.

I felt frustrated because we had one minute left before were finished the structure and we didn’t have much time to finish our work. It looked as if it was broken glass. It did not tape to the tubes with our slide and it dropped.

Next time when we have a news paper challenge again we will make it better.we should of put a gutter instead of a slide and make attachments to corners covering the newspaper so the marble does not come out of the corner. And make bigger tubes so I hopefully it’ will work next time.

Easter Highlight

There was an earthquake that cause a lot of damage in Japan. The size of the earthquake is 8.9 it was the biggest earthquake I'd seen. buildings were the most dangerous things, they had to evacuate the building as fast as they could. The people were scared because they saw the nuclear bomb and think it will blow up.

They were trying to get under tables and finding an open area on a field. They were waiting to get rescued from flooded houses waving the white flag. The buildings were crushed and they develop into lots of little pieces. The tsunami looked bigger and I was getting scared because the people in the cars had to slow and the tsunami was coming and they started to drive away.

Every Thursday we have Cricket with Hammond,Robbin and Chris. They come to Point England school to teach us how to play Cricket. I am always nervous because I might miss hitting the ball.

We always have a practice before we play Cricket.We had to be in Team’s before we play. As my first hit for practice my hit went far as it can go. The ball kept on going and I grabbed the wicket before it fell on the ground. When the ball that I hit, kept on going the rest of the team got all the cones that were on the ground to set it up the game again for the next person to have a turn.

Next week I was a bit drowsy to play well. We meet a new guy called Jamie. He told us how throw a ball with a lot of accuracy and power. The most important thing is to aim at the wicket and trying to hit it. We had to get into teams that were called Hearts and the other side is called Ace’s. First the game was hitting the wicket pretending it is a target, it was too hard. The Hearts won all the games.

We enjoyed playing cricket and well like to thank the coaches.

Christchurch earthquake

In Christchurch a devastating earthquake appeared, building’s has been demolished as civilian's were still trapped in buildings trying to rescue them. Their was rubble everywhere people going over a pile of broken glass,rocks and bricks.

Some of them were still unconscious to when people help carry them out. Some buildings were on fire and some of them were half crushed. Car were crushed as well. Civilian’s are waiting to get back home

Mrs Burt told us to go and set-up our net-books. When we got our brand spanking new netbooks it was smaller then a normal sized laptop. As she was giving us clear instructions I was playing games.
When we started opening our netbooks we felt delight to see our brand new netbooks. We were confused on our netbooks. As we were on our netbooks we did not know how to use them well. I was intriguing about our netbooks.

On Saturday it was my moms holiday going to valentines As we got their my dad had to pay at the counter so we can get inside.We ate the beef until my mom saw her beef it did not look right because it had a silver colour but i could not see it but she could instead.It smelt strange as well.Then we had desert i had chocolate with sprinkles on it.It was delicious.I had tungs of fun but I thought I could never eat food again.

After being at valentines i went to my cousins house in Avondale. He has a pet dog named
Zack.The dog was scared of me so i patted him on the head and rubbed his chin and he started to liked my face.As i got their i played a few games while i was at their house. they were putting on their clothes and spray on them.Then it was time to go back to my place for a party.Friends came inside to play my video game.

it was after 6:00 pm i was getting board so i watched some movies so i don't get board.Then i went to my room and they making a mess in my room.Their were clothes,marbles and games everywhere. and they had to pick up everything.

Halloween

On Sunday afternoon I saw people dressed up as wolves and zombies carrying. “Wow they look real. That’s right it’s Halloween.” I thought to myself. When it was sundown I saw heaps of people running and knocking on doors. I didn’t go and didn’t want to because I had no costume. While they were trick or treating, I was playing cards with my brother on the kitchen table. I was too tired to go outside. We also had no lollies to give out to the people who knocked on the door anyway. “I am so bored,” I yawned. I looked outside again and saw they were still running across the streets and eating lollies. That is the best part of Halloween. It was getting close to 9pm at night. I decided to do something else other than playing cards and games with my brother and went off to read a book instead.

The Old Dental Clinic

On Friday Morning, builders were preparing to bust down the dental clinic. They used crowbars to take off the old weatherboards. When they were ready, a huge digger came crashing down on the old dental clinic, scraping the floors and shattering glass as a huge dust cloud spread like smoke. The digger scraped the concrete and got the top of the building with it’s sharp jaws. It pulled the structure down with its giant claw! It ripped all the parts into pieces, breaking wood in half and smashing windows. It fell straight to the floor and made a big loud sound, “SMASH!” As they cracked all the glass from the old windowz they busted the whole dental clinic and we watched as it and fell to the ground.

On Wednesday morning Room15 lined up eagerly awaiting to go to the pool. As the children got their life jackets they had to adjust it 3 or 4 times. Chris, our instructor, is a water safety person who is here to teach people how to swim.Unfortunately I forgot my togs and I had to watch. When they were swimming they splashed and I got wet. They were shivering and shaking as they had to get into the help position, that’s when they have to cross their arms and legs to get warm. They had to do it for 10 seconds. As they were doing a count down they went slowly.The next position is to get in a huddle that’s when they have to get into a circle and hold other people’s shoulders and have to sing the national anthem they were singing loudly as Chris spinned them around slowly. After-that when they finish singing they get have free time for 5 minutes and got out of the pool cold.They got out of the pool giggling and shivering. They lay in the sun, which was shining brightly. I felt sad that I was missing out, I should have brought my togs!

Going to my cousins house

On Saturday my dad and I went to my cousin's house. We got to stay there for the night for a sleep over.

When I was playing the Xbox 360 with Austin, my cousin, we were playing Fifa 2010. It was cool game to play. The game was about soccer playing for the world cup. I lost but I tried my best to win.

After that we got to go outside to play. We were playing with our scooters going down the hill. When we were getting up the hill I tripped up on the scooter and scraped my knee on the concrete but I was o.k. So we went up back to my cousin's house to get the plaster for my knee. It didn’t hurt because they put cream on so it.

As we got back from the house we were just in time for lunch. We had K.f.C for lunch it was yummy . When we came back we had a Popsicle stick for a treat. A We went to the dairy and I bought a corneto and grainwaves chips. it was a nice desert. After that we were consumed to do something nice to our aunty so we bought her some presents.I’d felt happy going to my cousins house.

The Cross Country Race

On Wednesday it was cross country day for sports. As the race was about to start I was so nervous that I was thinking about coming last. When the clappers went I gave the best that I could. As we got to the middle we were exhausted and drained from all the I so I’d jogged for a while then went up to a person and said champions never give up so he jogged with me. Then sweat because it was a long run and we were dying for a drink at the taps. When we got three quarters the way we were really tired when we got to the muddy bits that made my feet got dirty like touching mud cake that is not cooked. As we got to the finish, when we had to sprint, there was a boy next to me. We sprinted but we didn’t know what place both of us came. Then we had to wash our feet so we don’t put our muddy feet in our class.
Cross country was hard.

On the first day of term 3 we learned about Mighty Mariners in our Immersion Assembly - it is our topic for term 3. Term 3 is about ships and waka sailing for land and the people who sailed them started their item they showed us a movie about the seven waka migrating to new Zealand. As they were sailing they saw land it was New Zealand and they cheered and cheered and cheered.

As team 2 got up Miss Burn was dressed as James Cook and Mrs She was dressed as a pirate. Mrs She pointed the sword at Miss Burn so pirates can have treasure.

On Monday at they assembly we were introducing active earth.When we started the assembly M.r Jacobson came out with a emergency speaker about any dangerous thing to keep away from it.When team one came on the stage and Mrs.L pretend to cough out plain flour out of her own hand.And when they got there medical stuff they throw crunchy chocolate to little kids on the left and right little kids were lucky.When team two got up in the front of the stage they show us a video about earthquake.When team three came up the stage they bring a fake volcano with party popper then the teacher,s went around the volcano.Then when team four came on the the opponents are called cylinders bionic,electronic,tectonic,supersonic and M.rs lo-ha were all the opponents are on the chair and party poppers for the people to answers the question.Later on when M.rs Lo-ha buzzed in and she said your momma and everyone laughed because it was really funny.I felt excited.

On Thursday Room 15 and 17 went swimming at the Leisure pool and the main pool. There were too many people at the Leisure Pools so we had to split up again and two people have to be at the main pool. When Miss Garden told us how to dive we had to glide across the pool.Then we went to the bottom of the pool so we almost touched the ground. When we finished we had 5 minute free time. The diving was the best activity. I felt excited.

The Rematch

On Friday we had a rematch of Capture the Flag against Room14. I thought we were going to play something else. It was a fun game when we played with room14 again. But it was hard to get into the safe circle because there were too many of them standing by. But 1 time I made it to the safe circle. When I got there they were arguing the whole time. We had heaps of plans but they didn't work. Room 14 was trying heaps of times to to get onto the safe zone on the other side too. It was 3 out of 2 and we were losing. Finally at the end of the game we lost.

Capture the Flag

On Friday we had a game with Room 14, it was called Capture the Flag. Miss King told us the instructions. Room 15 was the read team and Room 14 was the blue team. She precisely explained the rules to us. We needed flags and cones.
Finally we started walking to the bottom field. We had to set up the field full of cones.
Nobody went out of bounds. In the game we were attacking with excitement like cheetahs.
Finally after the game finished we had a rubbish collecting game. There was heaps of rubbish around the senior playground. We won two games in a row. I felt happy.
